I woke, in the early hours of the morning, to my
baby beside my bed! Why am I shocked? Because she only went and open the stair
gate by herself! There is no containing that child. Mind you there was no
crying, or having to get out of bed, she just crawled in with me, gave me the
biggest kisses and cuddles then snuggled back to sleep until 8:30am. In the new
house there will be no stair gate between us as the stairs won't be in our way
like in this house, so she'll be able to sneak in every time!
We managed to pack some more boxes today, mostly
books but we did manage a box full of CDs and DVDs too. Our shelves are looking
strangely bare now.
And there's still another huge bookshelf full of books upstairs!
Then, after all that hard work, we went to town. Kev took the three big girls with him hunting for presents for me (it's my birthday tomorrow, my hubby like to leave things to the last minute), so H and I went for a coffee shop treat. My birthdays seem to come around far too fast these days. I think I've had far too many of them now. I never know what I want present wise, I suppose I'm content with what I have: my four girls, Kev and the adventures that come with home educating.
I thought it would be nice to spend some one on one time with H in the coffee shop and it was. At first she did her usual and sat down quietly; I hadn't realised how quiet and patient she is until I saw how she behaved today. Eventually I encouraged her nearer me. At first we spent a good while looking out of the window and looking at everyone passing by then on to my lap. It was the first time we had properly sat alone with one of the magazines. For a few weeks she had refuse to do anything in her magazine, but today she sat for a good ten minutes talking about the pictures, sticking on stickers and colouring in. I always squeeze in my special time with her in the evening, once I have the three older ones down, I don't think she was expecting so much attention at that time of the day.
It's amazing to think she'll be two in a couple of weeks! She did have the most wonderful paddy towards the end of our time alone today! It was quite a fantastic show: screaming, fake crying, 'want its' and all, she even bit herself! All over a chocolate covered marshmallow. Less than a minute and it was all over and she was smiling and laughing and the chocolate covered marshmallows were all forgotten! The two lady baristas thought it as funny as me.
Oh well, when I wake tomorrow I will be one year older. At least Kev will always be older than me! (Love you really dear x)
