Learning through baking...

Honi was in one of her mischievous moods again.  She was terrorising her sisters before I'd even had time to open my eyes.  This so far week she has needed attention non-stop, I've had to find something to occupy her every second of the day and whenever I failed I had a little girl who has been running round the house doing all kinds of incredibly naughty things.  Yes, naughty.  One thing I can't have and won't have is hitting, kicking or any other kind of violence.

So Honi baked cakes.  She read the cookery book all by herself.

She broke the eggs all by herself.

She measured it all out by herself.

She even had a go at piping on the icing and making chocolate dinosaur shapes.

She was very happy and then she got bored again.  So Chiara and Naomi went to play with little Harmonie and dressed her up in Chiara's wig.  'I a little mummy now!'  She said proudly.  What a little sweety.

I was hoping to do some Easter Crafts but none of the girls were in the mood today.  The eldest two were however into their workbooks so I didn't complain.  It was a really easy going morning, apart from the start that is.  Harmonie even managed to occupy herself for a good long while, she played my iPad until it ran out of power and then moved on to my laptop for a dose of Reading Eggs.

Well, that was pretty much our day in short apart from bread making, coffee shops and shopping.  Oh, I did book some train tickets to London for May.  We are very much looking forward to that as we are meeting up with some fellow home educators that we've never met in person before.

I do hope and pray that my Honi wakes up in one of her better moods tomorrow...
